Rhodes, Kallithea, Kallithea Beach

Kallithea Beach - a popular beach with clear, turquoise waters, small coves and cliffs
Rhodes - the largest of the Greek Dodecanese islands and is located in the southeastern Aegean Sea, close to the Turkish coast. Rhodes is known for its rich history, sunny climate and beautiful landscapes with both beaches and mountainous inland. With over 300 days of sunshine per year, Rhodes is one of the sunniest destinations in the Mediterranean. The largest city, Rhodes Town, combines medieval architecture with a modern holiday feel. The medieval city center, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, is surrounded by well-preserved city walls and houses buildings from the Crusader era, such as the mighty Grand Master's Palace. The city is also filled with narrow cobblestone alleys, markets, cafes and restaurants. Rhodes' history spans several eras - from antiquity, when the island was home to the legendary Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, to the Byzantine, Ottoman and Italian periods. This has left clear traces in architecture, culture and traditions. Outside the city, beaches such as Faliraki, Tsambika, Lindos and Kallithea, as well as the charming whitewashed village of Lindos with its acropolis high above the sea, attract visitors. Rhodes also offers beautiful natural areas such as the Valley of the Butterflies and the Epta Piges (Seven Springs).
Kallithea - located on the east coast of Rhodes just south of Rhodes Town, is a place that combines seaside relaxation with historical and architectural attractions. The area is particularly famous for the beautiful Kallithea Beach and the historic Kallithea Thermes, an elegant 1920s spa and bathing complex built during the Italian period. Kallithea Beach is a popular beach with clear, turquoise waters, small coves and cliffs framing the bathing area. Kallithea Beach consists largely of sand and pebbles and is well-organized with sun loungers, parasols and nearby cafes. Kallithea is located about 9 km from Rhodes Town, making it an accessible and popular place for both day visits and longer stays.
