Geiranger - the cruise pier is a central facility in the small village of Geiranger

Geiranger is located in western Norway, in Stranda municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, at the end of the world-famous Geirangerfjord – an arm of the Storfjord. Surrounded by steep mountains, waterfalls and deep valleys, Geiranger is one of Norway’s most visited tourist destinations – particularly famous for its fjord, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is a ferry between Hellesylt and Geiranger, and during the summer the village is often visited by large cruise ships. Geiranger Cruise Pier is a central facility in the small village of Geiranger, located at the end of the world-famous Geirangerfjord in western Norway. A floating pier, called the SeaWalk, extends 236 meters out into the fjord. It is designed to handle up to 4,000 passengers per hour and has a capacity of over 300 tons. The SeaWalk allows passengers to walk directly from the ship to the village without the need for tenders. During the cruise season, which runs from early spring to late autumn, between 140 and 180 cruise ships visit Geiranger annually. From the cruise pier, visitors have direct access to the picturesque village of Geiranger, where they can explore local shops, restaurants and cafes. Popular excursions include visits to Flydalsjuvet, Dalsnibba and Trollstigen, as well as boat trips on the Geirangerfjord.
