Ibiza, or Eivissa in Catalan, is one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea and belongs to Spain. It is located east of the Spanish mainland and is known for its unique mix of lively nightlife, unspoiled nature and cultural history. Although the island is only about 570 square kilometers in size, it has an incredibly diverse character and attracts both party-loving tourists and nature lovers. Outside the city centers you will find small villages, white houses with flat roofs, fragrant pine forests and rural farms. The island has over 50 beaches, from popular sandy beaches such as Cala Comte and Playa d'en Bossa, to more secluded coves with crystal clear water. Ibiza is also an island with a rich history and culture. The old town of Ibiza town, called Dalt Vila, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are well-preserved city walls from the 16th century, narrow alleys, beautiful squares and viewpoints with views of the sea. Beyond partying and history, the island has become a haven for yoga, meditation and nature tourism. Many travelers come to relax, hike, kayak or just enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful surroundings. The island also has a strong environmental commitment, and parts of the surrounding seabed are protected for their biodiversity.
