London, Abbey Road Crossing

Abbey Road Crossing – one of the world's most iconic pedestrian crossings
London is the capital of both the United Kingdom and England. London is located on the River Thames in southeast England and has over 9 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area. The city is a global center for politics, economics, culture and history, among other things.
Abbey Road Crossing - a pedestrian crossing in the St John's Wood district of North London, just outside Abbey Road Studios. It is world famous thanks to the legendary album "Abbey Road" by The Beatles, whose cover image shows the band members crossing this very crossing. The photo for the album cover was taken on August 8, 1969 by photographer Iain Macmillan. The image shows John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney and George Harrison walking in a row across the street - a simple but powerful motif that has become a symbol of pop culture and music history. Since then, the place has become a tourist attraction and a must for Beatles fans from all over the world. Many visitors try to recreate the cover image, which means that the area is often full of people. Right next to the crossing is Abbey Road Studios, where The Beatles recorded most of their music. The studio is still active and used by artists from all over the world. In 2010, Abbey Road Crossing was classified as a Grade II listed site by the British government – something very unusual for a pedestrian crossing.
