Mora is an urban area and the central town of Mora municipality in Dalarna County. The organization for Vasaloppet is located in Mora and the town is also its finish location. The artist Anders Zorn was born in Mora and his home Zorngården is a major tourist attraction, as is the Zorn Museum which is located next door. Mora is located on the northern shore of Siljan and has approximately 20,000 inhabitants. Mora is known for many things and who does not know about Gustav Vasa's adventures and escape. The event that was the origin of what today, just over 400 years later, would become Vasaloppet with the finish in Mora.
