Nyköping, new construction, new travel center - Sweden
Nyköping's travel center will be a modern travel center with increased capacity for future train traffic.
Nyköping travel center at the railway yard area, between Brunnsgatan and the current station building. Construction starts in 2022 for the joint work with the Swedish Transport Administration. The construction phase will last approximately 5 years. Some parts are being built by the Swedish Transport Administration, some by Nyköping Municipality. In this project, Nyköping Municipality is collaborating with the Swedish Transport Administration, Region Sörmland and Jernhusen.
Nyköping travel center will be a modern travel center with increased capacity for future train traffic. The goal is a safe and accessible station where it will be easy to change between train, bus, bicycle and car so that people can travel smoothly, greenly and safely.
The travel center is expected to be completed in 2028.
