Storgatan - with a view east towards Borgholms torg in Borgholm

Storgatan in Borgholm is a central street that runs through the city center and serves as one of the main routes for both residents and visitors. Storgatan connects several important parts of Borgholm, including the proximity to the harbor area and the central neighborhoods with shops, restaurants and municipal services. Along Storgatan there is a mixture of older buildings and later buildings, which reflects the city's development from the 19th century onwards. During the summer months, parts of the street are often used for events and temporary closures linked to tourism and local business. Storgatan also has pedestrian streets and areas that have been adapted to facilitate movement between the various commercial and public functions in the center.

Borgholm is the capital of Öland and is located in Borgholm Municipality on the west coast of Öland, approximately in the middle of the island. Just south of Borgholm are the ruins of Borgholm Castle, dating back to the 12th century, with a view of Kalmarsund.
