Valsjöbyn, Rengsfallet - Sweden

The Rengsfallet waterfall at Valsjöbyn - fascinating, powerful and thunderous.
Rengsfallet is located about 1.5 km from county road 340 (Fiskevägen) in Valsjöbyn in the northern part of Krokom municipality near the Norwegian border in Jämtland. A private road leads from county road 340 to a parking lot about 200 meters from Rengsfallet. Rengsström is the outlet from Lake Rengen and ends with Rengsfallet before the water flows into Valsjön. Rengsfallet is 70 meters wide and has a drop of 12 meters. Lake Rengen is located in both Sweden and Norway and its source flows come to almost 100% from the Norwegian mountains. In Rengsfallet, the water has been falling in the same way for about 9000 years and thanks to the hard rocks in the area, Rengsfallet will remain for thousands of years to come.
Fishing in Rengsströmmen is managed by Valsjöns fishing management area with good opportunities for sport fishing. Valsjöns fishing management area is part of collaborations between several other fishing management areas in Jämtland. The following fishing license gives the right to sport fishing within Valsjöns fishing management area.
