Storuman Municipality - one of Sweden's largest municipalities in terms of area
Storumans Municipality is a municipality in Västerbotten County in the province of Lapland. In Sweden, the municipality borders Sorsele to the north, Vilhelmina to the south and Lycksele to the east. To the west, Storumans Municipality borders Norway and the municipalities of Hattfjelldal, Hemnes and Rana. The municipality is one of Sweden's largest in terms of area. In Storumans Municipality, there are more than 2,400 lakes and the Ume River, which provides endless opportunities for fishing and outdoor activities. The range of fishing is large, accessible and close both for those who choose to go out on their own and those who hire a professional guide. Some of the watercourses can be found within 500 m of the railway station, which can be good if you are traveling by Inlandsbanan. Just over 5,000 inhabitants live here and the municipality is home to the well-known ski resorts of Hemavan and Tärnaby, among others.
