Tjörn, webcams - Sweden
Tjörn is Sweden's seventh largest island and is located between Orust and Marstrand on the west coast. In addition to the main island, the municipality of Tjörn consists of more than 1,500 smaller islands, skerries and islets, all surrounded by the Kattegat Sea. Just under an hour's drive north of Gothenburg, you will come across the impressive Tjörn Bridge, which takes you from Stenungsund, via Stenungsön to Tjörn. The island's diverse nature includes smooth granite outcrops and high mountains, lush valleys and flowering coastal meadows, barren rocky islands and winding gravel roads - perfect for cycling, hiking, canoeing and archipelago adventures. There are good opportunities to get to several of Tjörn's islands even if you don't have your own boat. For example, there are regular ferry services to Dyrön, Åstol, Härön and Tjörnekalv, and you can go to Klädesholmen and Lilla Askerön by car or bus. Lilla Brattön, Risön and Hättan are islands with summer settlements. During the summer season you can also get to these by regular ferry service. If you have access to your own boat, there are hundreds more islands and skerries to visit.
