Region Västmanland is building a new emergency hospital in Västerås. The buildings in the first stage will have an area of approximately 75,000 square meters. The new hospital is planned to include surgery, X-ray, emergency room, care beds, receptions, childbirth and intensive care. The assignment also includes supply buildings to ensure that materials, goods and electricity supply to the hospital are met in an efficient manner. Old buildings are being demolished gradually.
Construction starts in 2022. First patient in 2030.
