Grizzly Express in Björnrike – one of Sweden's longest express lifts

Vemdalen is a mountain resort in Härjedalen, Jämtland County, in central Sweden. Vemdalen attracts many tourists with its three ski areas: Vemdalsskalet, Björnrike and Klövsjö/Storhogna. Together, these have over 50 slopes and a modern lift system. Snow reliability is high thanks to both natural snow and snow cannons. The season usually lasts from November to April. Vemdalsskalet is one of the three main areas in the Vemdalen ski resort and is a popular destination for both skiing in winter and mountain activities in summer. Klövsjö is part of the Klövsjö/Storhogna ski area, which is part of Destination Vemdalen. The area offers 14 lifts, 21 slopes and a snow park. There are also cross-country ski trails and opportunities for ice climbing at the spectacular Fettjeåfallet. In Björnvallen there are playful children's areas with a treadmill, a sledding hill and a forest track. In the summer, the area offers hiking trails, cycling opportunities and proximity to mountain nature. Many accommodations have ski-in/ski-out facilities, making it easy to get to the slopes directly from your cabin or apartment.
