Vemdalen is a mountain resort in Härjedalen, Jämtland County, in central Sweden. Vemdalen attracts many tourists with its three ski areas: Vemdalsskalet, Björnrike and Klövsjö/Storhogna. Together, these have over 50 slopes and a modern lift system. Snow reliability is high thanks to both natural snow and snow cannons. The season usually lasts from November to April. Vemdalsskalet is one of the three main areas in the Vemdalen ski resort and is a popular destination for both skiing in winter and mountain activities in summer. Vemdalsskalet is a picturesque mountain village with sports shops and restaurants, all centered around Skalets torg. Here you can ski on two mountains and fast express lifts take you comfortably to the top. Around Vemdalsskalet you can live comfortably right next to the ski slopes, in well-equipped cottages and apartments or in hotels. Skalet Express is a modern 6-chair lift and with a length of 592 meters and a drop of 99 meters, it is Sweden's shortest 6-chair lift.
