The Sphere - one of Las Vegas' most spectacular visual landmarks
The Sphere in Las Vegas is a high-tech event venue that opened in September 2023. Located near The Venetian Resort, it is the world's largest spherical building. The Sphere is approximately 112 meters high and 157 meters wide, with a capacity of approximately 18,600 people. The exterior consists of over 1.2 million LED panels that can display moving images and lighting effects, making the building one of the city's most eye-catching landmarks. Inside, there is a huge high-definition screen that envelops the audience and is used for concerts, film screenings and various events that combine sound, light and visual technology on a unique level.
The Sphere is a project operated and financed by Madison Square Garden Entertainment (MSG Entertainment) under the leadership of James L. Dolan. The arena was built on land east of The Venetian Resort, with the Las Vegas Sands Corporation contributing land arrangements. The total construction cost was approximately $2.3 billion. The Sphere is thus the result of a collaboration between MSG, landowners and investors, which enabled the creation of one of the world's most technologically advanced and iconic event venues.
