Mt. Hood Meadows – one of Oregon's largest ski areas

Mt. Hood Meadows is a ski resort located on the southeast side of Mount Hood. Located about 1.5 hours east of Portland, the ski resort is one of the largest and most popular in the state. The resort offers over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain, with multiple lifts, natural snow cover, and a season that often extends from November to May. There is a wide variety of runs for all levels – from wide beginner runs to steep and challenging black-marked runs and off-piste areas.


Mount Hood – a majestic stratovolcano in Oregon, it is the highest point in the state at 11,111 feet (3,429 m). The mountain is located approximately 50 miles (80 km) east of Portland and is one of the most prominent peaks in the Cascade Range. Mount Hood is a dormant volcano that last erupted in 1865. Although it has not had a major eruption in modern times, it is classified as potentially active, meaning that future activity cannot be ruled out. The volcano is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, which contains many of the world's active volcanoes.
