Tromsø - Norway

Tromsø is located in the northernmost part of Norway, approximately 240 km north of Narvik. Tromsø is famous for its unique combination of the Northern Lights, midnight sun, Arctic nature, research and culture that attracts both adventurers and scientists from all over the world. Tromsø was founded around 1250 and received city rights in 1794. During the 19th century, the city became an important base for Arctic expeditions. Today, Tromsø is known for its rich cultural history, with several museums and historic buildings. The city's most iconic building is the modern Arctic Cathedral, completed in 1965, which reflects the city's Arctic identity.
