Ohio [OH] - USA
Ohio, located in the American Midwest, is a state that plays an important role in both the history and present of the United States. With its geographical location between the East Coast and the interior, Ohio has long been a strategic hub for transportation, trade, and industry. The state borders Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, as well as Lake Erie to the north, which gives it access to maritime transportation and a temperate climate. With a population of just over 11 million, Ohio is the seventh most populous state in the United States. The capital is Columbus, which is also the largest city, while other major urban centers include Cleveland on Lake Erie and Cincinnati on the Kentucky border. Historically, Ohio has had a strong connection to industrialization. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the state was a center for manufacturing, steel, and automobile production, and many cities grew up around factories and transportation routes. Although some industries have declined in importance, Ohio today has a diversified economy, with strong sectors in healthcare, logistics, education, agriculture, and technology. Ohio's natural landscape offers a lot of variety: from rolling farmland and forests to rivers and lakes. The Appalachian Mountains reach into the southeastern part of the state, while Cuyahoga Valley National Park offers beautiful scenery and popular hiking trails near urban areas.
