Philadelphia [PA] - USA

Pennsylvania is located in the northeastern part of the United States and has played a crucial role in the history of the United States. To the north, Pennsylvania borders New York, to the east New Jersey, to the south the state shares borders with Delaware, Maryland and West Virginia and to the west Pennsylvania meets Ohio. With over 13 million inhabitants, Pennsylvania is one of the most populous states in the United States and an important player both politically and economically. The capital is Harrisburg, but the most famous cities are Philadelphia to the east and Pittsburgh to the west. Philadelphia is rich in revolutionary history and was the place where both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were written. Pittsburgh is known for its industrial heritage in steel production and its modern developments in technology, education and healthcare. Pennsylvania has a varied landscape – from mountain ranges and rivers to forests and farmland. The Appalachian Trail passes through the state, and the nature attracts both outdoor life and tourism. The state also has a large Amish population, especially in Lancaster County, where they preserve traditional lifestyles without modern technology.
