Thailand

Thailand - a country in Southeast Asia, known for its beautiful beaches, rich cultural heritage, friendly people and varied nature. The country borders Myanmar (Burma), Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia, and has coastlines on both the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. The capital is Bangkok, a vibrant metropolis with over 10 million inhabitants, known for its street life, temples, night markets and modern shopping malls. In total, over 70 million people live in Thailand (2024). Thailand has a rich cultural history influenced by India, China and indigenous traditions. The country is mostly Buddhist (over 90% of the population) and is filled with beautiful temples, golden Buddha statues and spiritual ceremonies. Thailand has several international airports, with Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok being the largest. Domestic transport is by train, bus, domestic flights and the classic tuk-tuk.
